Passport Photo Guidance
When applying for a new passport, or passport renewal, your passport photo must meet the following guidance:
- Your passport photo should measure 4.5cm (45mm) high and 3.5cm (35mm) wide
- Passport photos must be clear, in focus and of a professional standard
- Photos must be in colour, on a white or high coloured background without border.
- Passport photos must be in good condition, with no tears or creases
- Passport photos must not be marked on either side, unless they need to be countersigned
- Your face and eyes should be clearly visible. Eyes must be open, visible without red eye and hair must not obscure them.
- Passport photos must only contain your facial profile
- Photos should not contain shadow, either behind you or on your face, and the background must be of clear contrast to your face
- Photos must show your face looking straight on with a plain expression and your mouth must be closed.

Our state-of-the-art photo booths are available for use by businesses and retailers and can be installed throughout the UK and Ireland. They simply need power and use their own 3G/4G connectivity.
